Who does she look like....

I think the full lips and wavy hair prove that she is all me.  I will give her daddy credit for the long eye lashes.

Work of Art

Sydney loves to color.  So much so that we go through coloring books like crazy.  Her preschool teacher made me giggle the other day when she told me that all of the other kids rushed through their color projects that day but Sydney insisted that every spot on her project was completely covered.  That's my girl.

Her new thing is to use tons of different colors on her pictures.  I love it.  She asked me to take pictures of her artwork.

Goofy Girls

One of the sounds that Sydney has been working on in speech is her G sounds.  We would practice often so I got in the habit of calling Syd and Sawyer "goofy girls" or "goofballs."  So one afternoon we were really bored so I took them upstairs to play (change of scenery works wonders).  They were acting like true goofballs!

Sawyer the Star

Sawyer wanted her picture taken with the STAR magic wand too.  Not to be left out...

Camp Part 4

Ok, 28 photos, I think that is enough for now.  I have many more favorites from our day today!

Izzy and Remi had fun at camp too.  They were exhausted.  Haven't heard a peep out them since we have been home. Maybe Remi will sleep in tomorrow.  Wishful thinking, I am sure.

Camp Part 2

Fall Camp Day

We haven't been to camp in FOREVER!  Considering how crazy our lives have become in the last few months, I guess it is understandable, but have we missed our time there.  I got so spoiled having spent most of the summer there!

We had a house showing and an open house today, so we decided to spend the day at camp.  We originally planned to spend the weekend here, but Grandma had to get back home really early Sunday morning, so it made more sense to stay home and then just take a day trip after Grandma and Papa left.

I pretty much wore my camera out today.  I am going to attempt to post 30 of my favorites from our day trip today.  I may have to break it up into several posts.

We got to camp just before lunch time and had a quick sandwich.  Jim spent a good part of the day getting the gutters cleaned out and ready for the winter.  The girls enjoyed watching him from a safe distance.  They also enjoyed playing with all of their camp toys again.  After Jim got the gutters done we hiked down to the beach. The girls love walking down the hill because they are forever looking for wonderful treasures.  White birch bark, pine cones, rocks...the usuals.  We spent a ton of time on the beach and rested on the dock. The girls were pretending to fish.  Don't freak out when you see them on the dock without their life jackets.  It is less than 4 feet deep around the dock and Jim and I were with them the whole time.  The water was so cold but we had fun splashing eachother anyway!

Hiking down the hill is very fun.  Hiking up the hill with the two of them...NOT SO MUCH!  It is a lot of walking for little legs.

I took a few more photos of them on our leaf line lane.  I will save those in case I use them for holiday cards.

Crack of Dawn

The girls are still getting up at the crack of dawn.  Sydney tip toes into my room at 6 am pretty much every morning.  Then the damn dog barks when he hears her and then he wakes up Sawyer!  Yes, this is my morning...every.single.day!  Since Daddy had the day off today, I decided at 6:45 am that I would attempt to get their Christmas pictures started.  I figured it would take at least two attempts to get something useful.  My gals don't like to sit still for pictures.  Go figure.  So at 7:15 we got in the car and headed right up the road to a really sweet spot.  The girls were freezing, and weren't into getting their photos taken.  But I did manage to get the perfect shots for cards.

I usually love the morning light but cloudy/overcast days like today often have such a blue looking morning light.  So I wanted to take a test shot outside to see if a custom white balance would solve the issue with the color cast.  I asked Sawyer to come outside with me for a minute.  She was not happy.  She had just washed her hands and they were still wet so they were really cold.  She was ticked off and crying about how cold her fingers were.  Can you tell??  hehehehehe.

So I got them dressed, tamed Sawyer's crazy morning hairdo and tortured poor Daddy before his first cup of coffee.  I did manage to get one good shot of each of them for a holiday card but most of them were outtakes as evidenced by the ones below!  My little camera ham.  At least she is cute.  Love the color, love the background, love my girls (don't love that I cut her toes off in the shot!).  Hopefully I can find a card template that I like!  Straight out of the camera shot...love the color.  Speaking of love, I am over 13,000 shutter clicks on a camera that isn't even a year old!  It has been a busy summer and fall season.

Pirate Picnic

My girls love the show Jake and the Neverland Pirates.  They had a pirate picnic before school this morning.
