Different House, Same Activities

The girls are settling in perfectly.  We finally got family room furniture on Thursday and on Friday I went to my favorite local gem of a store and found some side tables and a coffee table.  The girls took over the room right away and it was covered in color pages and markers.  I will remind myself that this is the family room, the kids are gonna mess it up and we bought granite colored leather furniture for a reason!

Their new favorite spot to play.  I can't wait to get some paint color on the walls.  Builder beige is not my thing : )

Silly Girls

Princess dress up by day, builders by night.

The girls helped Daddy put the new grill together tonight.  Needless to say, they had a good time.

Princess dress ups today.  Pretty much everyday.
Loving their big playroom.  I have visions of artwork and bright paint colors down here.  I can't decide what color to paint this room.
Blown out picture, but still funny.  She was being coy.
 Tonight's project - build Daddy's new grill.
 Look at me Daddy!

Trying to figure out how to use this thing.
 Wow, this works really well!
 Loving the drill.
I mean, she really loved this drill.  Crazy girl.

More boring updates

Trying to get settled in our new house.  It is taking way too much time for my taste.  Probably because we don't have any furniture!  Actually, we just got our new dining room set yesterday.  I went shopping with my friend and tried to scope out the stuff over the last two weeks.  Jim and I went a few days later and I was ready to pull my hair out.  He just couldn't make a decision.  Most of the tables and chairs that I found were not the samples on the floor.  You basically see a few samples but then the ones I really wanted were the ones you had to decide on from a picture.  Jim wasn't into it.  He said he just couldn't decide from looking at a small picture in a catalog.

I took him to a gem of a store that I discovered a few days after moving.  I can only describe this store as my dream store.  Anyway, I saw a table there and decided to show Jim thinking that he probably woudn't like it.  Guess what!  It was the winner.  He loved it.  Found locally, available immediately, delivered yesterday!  Yes!

The family room furniture is being delivered on Friday.  Finally!  Jim called about it today and discovered that it has been sitting for almost 10 days now.  They didn't have a valid phone number so they couldn't get ahold of us.  So frustrating.

Painters come at the beginning of May.  They will be doing the 2 story entryway, hallways and family room.  Poor Jimmy is stuck with doing our dining room this weekend.  Maybe even the front living room : )

The girls continue to amaze me with how well they have adjusted to the whole move.  They love their new playroom.  They sleep wonderfullyThe basement is massive.  Part of it is finished and the other part is unfinished.  Both sections have a ton of natural light as there are oversized windows on both sides and a walkout door on the unfinsihed side.  They love both side equally.  One minute they will be quietly playing in the playroom side and the next minute they are riding their bikes or scooters in the unfinished side.  I love it.  I can be down there unpacking boxes and hanging out with them at the same time.

I haven't gotten used to having an attached garage yet.  I know most people think I am weird, but I prefered our detached for many reason.  I can't say that I love it, but we are keeping it clear of anything but cars, a few necessary items and our shoes.  I hate cluttered garages!  Who are we kidding - I hate clutter anywhere!

We had a fun outting tonight.  We took the girls on campus for the famous Creamery ice cream!  I can't say that it is as good as Stewart's, but it is the closest second we will ever get!  Jim was just saying that it is so  nice being so close to everything.  Minutes from family, minutes from friends, minutes from campus and downtown.  I can't even image how much money I will be saving in gas mileage.

I am feeling bad that Sydney isn't in preschool for the last few weeks of the school year, but I am enjoying having her home with me.  Sawyer is regisntered for preschool - I can't believe it!  How can muy little girl be going to school.  We have to get Syd registered for Kindergarten.  I think she is ready.  PA's cutoff is September.  I know that she will be younger than most of her school friends, but I know she will love it.

Can't think of anything else right now.  Pictures to follow once we have some painted rooms and furniture!

Emma's Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Party

Emma loves to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so Mommy and Daddy made that the theme of her 1st Birthday Bash!  What a fun party.  The weather was horrible so they rented a tent for the large party.  It was so much fun watching all of their friends and family gather to celebrate the beautiful birthday girl.  She is loved!

Lots of hugs for Jared.  She loves her big kid cousins.  It is so fun seeing the older kids take such good care of her.  I am so glad to be back in town.  Now I get to watch Emma grow just as I watched Bethany and Jared grow up.
Sydney loves to cut and color pictures for friends and family.  She was so excited when I told her she and Sawyer could decorate Emma's birthday card.  Here are the results.  Cute, cute, cute...
Not so sure about this cake.  Oh wait, this really is good!
"Don't even think about taking this away from me Daddy..." (see her Daddy's hand reaching out!)
Loving her new car.  Jared pushed her all around her house after the party was over.
She had so much fun opening her gifts.  She was such a good girl all day. No nap but such a trooper with all of the people and all of the attention..

Oops, out of order, but this was her adorable cake smash cake.  Coolest cakes ever!  Aunt Jessica had the important task of carrying the very heavy cake from inside the house to outside the ten.  I think the cake weighed more than Jessica.  Good thing my event planner sister can handle those task...in wedge heeled shoes, no less.  I was given strict orders not to carry anything important : )  Guess my family remembers my unfortunate Thanksgiving mishap.
What a great celebration for a wonderful, happy baby girl...I mean big girl!  One year old...really.  How did that happen!

Update

We are getting settled in our new house.  We spent our first night here on Sunday night. The girls have done amazingly well adjusting.  Jim and Pap Pap worked hard in getting their rooms painted the same way they were at our old house, so they loved their rooms right away.  I still need to get decorations back on their walls, but need to wait until the paint really sets before I put the shelves and frames up.  Their bathroom is painted too.  I love all of the space in their bathroom.  They took their first tubby in our bathroom.  I filled the tub up with bubbles and turned the jets on.  The bubbles were crazy!

The rest of the house sits untouched!  I still have to family room furniture.  It should be delivered any day now.  We are finalizing our decision on a dining room set too.  That will take 6-8 weeks to build.  So annoying!

We have a painter coming at the beginning of May.  He will paint the entryway and hallway and the family room.  Jim and I will tackle the living room and dining room soon.  I think once the paint is done and some decorations get put on the wall, it will finally start feeling like a home.

The girls love their yard and the neighborhood park.  Our neighbors have an almost 6 year old.  I can't wait for the girls to meet her.  I hope they will become fast friends.

Jared was here tonight playing with the girls.  We were riding bikes and playing at the park.  They had a blast with him.  It is so nice living 6-7 minutes from both of my sisters and about the same amount of time from my parents' house!

Once the house gets a bit more settled, I will take some pictures.

Happy 1st Birthday

Hard to believe that my beautiful little niece is turning one year old this weekend.  We are gearing up for her big bday party on Sunday.  We took a couple of photos of her this evening in her cute little birthday outfit.  So sweet.  Love her.

Happy Easter

The girls had a fun (but way too early) of a morning looking through their Easter treats.  We spent the day with the family. Bethany had to work, so it was weird not having her here.

Just a few of the girls in their dresses.  Living out of a suitcase hasn't been easy, so last week I went shopping and splurged on a cute outfit for each of them.

None of the kids were in the mood to pose for Mommy/Aunt Jody.   I got what I could : )

Goodbye Remi Boy

We said goodbye to our old Remi boy tonight.  Lymphoma took over very quickly and he was suffering so much in the last week.  Jim and I stayed with him when they gave him the injection.

Too many changes too quickly.  Not prepared for this.

We are missing you very much, Remi dog.
