Christmas tree

We tried to get our tree late yesterday afternoon but couldn't find one as tall and skinny as we need for our space. We were bummed, so we went to another tree farm (getting too dark for pictures by then) and tagged a 12 foot tall and skinny tree.  However, we got a recommendation from a friend about another tree farm that sells the tall trees for a much more reasonable price.  I think we will be heading there first thing on Sunday!! More pictures to come on our second Christmas tree adventures! For now, a few pictures from our first attempt.

Warm Days Outside

Couldn't have asked for a more perfect, mild November.  Lots of outside time.  Our favorite.

Cousin Day

The girls got to hang out with their cousins today! Always a fun day when the 4 little girls hang out together.

Happy Thanksgiving

Love my two turkeys!

Friday, November 20, 2015

The girls got Smencils for a school fund raiser a few weeks ago.  Needless to say, they are enjoying the pencils! I couldn't pass up the chance to dust off the camera and watch them play with their new treasures!

Warm Weather November and new camera lens

Just snapshots of the girls enjoying the crazy amazing warm November while I try to figure out the amazing new camera lens!

Halloween

I have so few pictures from Halloween.  Ugh.

Only one snapshot from trick or treating night.  They did not want to sit for a picture.  They were too excited to get to our friends' house to trick or treat!

They got a ton of candy, but we dontated it in exchange for a small ziplock bag of their favorites and a new Beanie Boo.  They were happy to hand over the piles of candy in exchange for a cute stuffed animal and I was happy to get all that candy out of the HOUSE!

Silly reader

I'm not sure how she found this to be a comfortable way to read her chapter book, but she read for quite a while this way! Silly girl!

October at the Lake

The girls had several days off from school the third week of October.  We took advantage of those extra days off to head to camp.  Papa already arrived in Vermont for the start of his ski season, so it was a perfect opportunity to get to camp for a few days and to drive into Vermont to hang out with Papa.  We got there Wednesday evening, Papa drove in from Vermont and stayed with us at camp for a few days.  We then headed into Vermont one day to take a quick, very cold hike, swim at Papa's condo pool and to have a yummy lunch.  Back to camp for the rest of the weekend where we enjoyed a fall foliage boat ride, lots of time outside, walks to the bay to find lake glass and other lake treasures, lots of fires in the wood stove, and lots of yummy meals. We had so much fun hanging out with Papa and the lake.  The only sad thing was watching Jim tuck the boat in for the winter.  I'm glad the weather cooperated for one more boat ride.  The morning that we left, we went through the process of winterizing it.  Heat is still on, but the power goes out a lot of in north country! Jim always drains the lines and adds anitfreeze to the sinks and toilets.  I'm hoping we will make it back to NY and Vermont to ski with Papa in March! Until then, my favorite place on earth...

The girls like to take a walk down our long lane.  I love giving them a little bit of freedom to play and wander on their own.  Just a little!
