A few more of Sydney

A few more from camp- my girl was pretty exhausted.

Food on the face.  Oh well.  She is still cute.  I will keep her!
 Too defocused, but still cute.

Camp Photos

The girls and I had a wonderful time at camp last week.  The weather was unreal!  We went hiking down to the bay everyday (sometimes twice a day) and found treasures, threw rocks in the water, sat on the dock talking about our plans for the summer.  They enjoyed playing on the deck with their water toys and bubbles.  By the end of our stay, they were a little bored.  It is hard being at camp and not being able to swim and jump off the dock!  Soon, very very soon.

The only bad thing about camp were the nasty ticks.  The were bad.  The dogs would go on long runs in the woods and then bring them back.  I can always spot them on Izzy, but I can't always see them on Remi.  I spent a ton of time freaking out and checking the girls, doing a mid-day clothes change.  I bathed the girls every night and then cleaned the area rug several times a day.  I hate those awful things.  It was the only negative thing about our time there.  I am so glad the ticks disappear during the summer months.

I would have spent more time there, but after 6 months of doing it alone during the work week, I was done!  Jim wouldn't have been able to come on the weekends either since the trip to camp is longer from PA.  So I would be alone all the time.  No more.

Tons of photos from our days at camp.  The girls and I are so excited for the summer season.  It was so hard sitting on the dock and not being able to swim!

Playing Stawberry Shortcake and friends....everyday!  They miss their play table so they use the coffee table.  Daddy accidentally broke the glass on the table this weekend, so we have to figure out a fix for the summertime.  Can't not have a playtable!  Silly daddy.
 Bubbles, bubbles and more bubbles.

Sydney calls Sawyer her "best friend."  Aw, so wonderful to hear.  Hope they stay this way forever.
This is what happens when I walk away from my 3 year old as she gets dressed.  Backwards, always!!

Secret hideout playtime.  They spent time in their hideout reading and playing.  I must make it priority this year to do some artwork and fun things in this space.  It is a kids dream space.
Jammin' and dancin' to music.  I turned around and saw the hugging.  So sweet.

Coloring pages by a warm fire.
We found a few treasures this past week.  The lake glass treasures are our favorites to find.

Outside Everyday Play, Pt. 2

Soybean doesn't like having anything around her neck - just like me.  We finally found the perfect adjustment for the helmet so it doesn't bother her, but she sure did want it off.  I caught her just as she was trying to rip the thing off!  She was ticked!!!  So hysterical!
Some little sister thinks she can ride big sister's 16 inch bike.  I couldn't believe how well she was doing.  She can ride completely flat footed.  My little girl is growing up way too fast.

Outside Everyday Play, Pt. 1

It has been so nice to get outside and enjoy this beautiful weather!  We went on a couple of stroller walks already.  I am getting a good workout pushing the girls in their stroller.  They certainly grew some since the fall.  We visited the horses this morning on our walk.  I have a feeling we won't get to see the cows before we move.  They aren't in their field yet.  I will miss our country walks so much.  We can turn one direction and visit our cow friends or we can turn the other direction and visit our horse friends.  Ah, country living will be missed.  I will have to adjust to neighborhood living.  I think it will be good for the girls to be living near other kids.  Hopefully our new neighborhood has lots of young kids!

Here are some pictures from our last two days of outdoor play.  Sydney is loves to play hopscotch.  I love watching her jump around.  Soybean is all about the scooter this year.  I desperately need some outdoor toys or activities as we don't have much.  Jim and I looked at big wheels this weekend but couldn't decide if the girls would enjoy them or not.  I just have such fond memories of our big wheels.  We used to wear them out!

Moving on

It seems like yesterday that we were filling a dumpster up when we moved from our house in Glenville.  Now 2.5 years later, we are doing it again!

This scene makes me happy.  Clearing out is such a rewarding thing to do.  I will be happy knowing that no unused or unnecessary item will enter our new home.  Kudos to Jim for really clearing out his stuff from the basement and garage!

Baking

The girls love to watch their Strawberry Shortcake Cooking up Fun movie.  The movie is about the friends filming a cooking show (prepping, measuring, cooking, etc).  Now Sydney and Sawyer love to pretend to cook all sorts of goodies.  Everytime I turn around, one of them is in the drawer grabbing foil or plastic bags for their treats.  No wonder I run out of this stuff so quickly!

The girls and I planned on making cupcakes on Friday night but I realized too late that I didn't have any boxed cake mix.  The girls decided they would rather have choc chip cookies anyway.  I made Brown Buttered Icing and we treated ourselves to this yummy treat.  Sydney didn't want her iced cookie sandwich after dinner.  She isn't too much of a sweet eater.  Sawyer devoured hers in two bites!  Brown Buttered Icing ROCKS.  It is my all time favorite icing recipe ever!  I am so glad I saw the recipe in a magazine last year.  It has been my go-to ever since. My mouth is watering just writing about it!

Sydneyism

Always thinking with that tongue sticking out.  So Sydney.  In fact, I catch Sawyer doing it sometimes too.  Love it.

Strawberry Shortcake

My girls love to do imaginary play.  They especially love their polly pockets and strawberry shortcake toys.  They spent an afternoon playing with their strawberry shortcake dolls and then mommy surprised them with Stawberry/yogurt smoothies.  They were excited!

Is that snow out there?

I am not a fan of snow.  Considering our situation, I am so happy that we haven't had bad weather this winter.

The only real storm we got this winter dumped a mere 12 inches in our yard.  Heavy, wet snow.  Perfect for sled riding and playing.

The girls and I went sled riding in our yard.  I felt like a kid again yanking them down the hill and dumping them out of the sled.  They had a blast!
