Thursdays are fun. Nana watches the little grandkids on Thursdays. Sawyer and I will often go over and visit with Nana, Emma and Reese. This morning I actually remembered to take my camera. Here are a few shots of the girls hanging out at Nana's together.
Emma loves Sawyer's iPad. Kind of shocking how an almost 3 year old can navigate today's technology! Smart little girl!
Little Reese trying to figure out whether she likes my camera or not!

Mia
Wish the weather would change so I could actually take pictures outside. Ugh. Another snow and ice storm coming. Really.
Here's my sweet pup.

Keeping busy
We kept busy on our snow days by painting and playing!!
Anyone else use the watercolored pencils??? They are the most fun! Thanks Aunt Jen for the Christmas gift!
Bubble letters! My girl is growing up so quickly!
I was trying to get a cute wide angle picture of Sydney but then a sneeze came flying out of her face without warning. Thankfully I got the camera out of her face just in time! Then we both had a good laugh about it!
Playroom goofy faces
We painted a Monster's Inc picture for cousin Emma G. Her favorite! Also soon to be the theme of her 3rd birthday!

Strep Throat is rough
This was our first experience with strep throat and it was awful. Poor Sawyer was in a mood one afternoon and kept complaining that her throat hurt. After the fever started that night, I figured it was strep. I called the doctor the next morning and got her in. The doctor swiped her throat and said she would be back in 5 minutes after the quick strep test. She ended up back in the office within two minutes and said the strep test registered really quickly. Poor baby. We left the drs office and went to CVS for throat drops, ice cream and her Rx.
Amazing what a day and a half on medicine will do for a little girl.
Quiet time
Our school district shut down for two days in a row because of snow and ice. I loved every minute of having the girls home with me. Sawyer still naps and when Sydney is home from school or the weekends, she likes to go to her room for quiet time. I followed her to her room during quiet time the other day and enjoyed watching her create and write. Her two favorite past times.
Scary puppy face
I think Mia really likes the snow!!
Warning: Scary dog face!!!
Really, she is super cute!!! And she really loves the snow and chasing snowballs and plowing into the girls while they are playing in the snow!!

Trying to embrace the winter
It has been a hard winter. No one can argue that. Bitter cold temps, lots of snow, several major ice storms, tons of school closings. I loved the school closing because it meant that I had both girls home to enjoy days of fun time! I haven't felt like going out in the cold though. Part of my problem is that I don't have good winter gear. I have a good warm jacket, but that is it! I told Jim that next year I am investing in a good and very warm pair of boots and snow pants. Of course, next winter will be mild and we won't have snow! (no problem!)
We were celebrating the 30 degree days lately! The snow and several days off from school in a row meant lots of outdoor playtime since the weather was finally warm enough (for me).
Sliding down the front steps!!!
Tug of war with Sawyer's snowpants.

5 years old
Needless to say, I shouldn't have tried to do her 5 year picture on a bitter cold evening. Can you tell from the picture how cold she is! Not sure when I will get a chance to get her back outside. It is either snowing or bitter cold here these days.
My spirited, spunky, loving Sawyer. Life is never dull with you : )

Happy Birthday Sawyer Molly
Today my little girl turns 5 years old. I'm still in denial that she is getting so big. She is the most comical, sweet, spunky kid I know. We love her so much and are so proud of her.
We celebrated with the family on Saturday afternoon. The "Frozen" movie theme was certainly appropriate for this frozen winter season. The girls loved the movie and it was a no brainer to use the movie as our theme. The girls got lots of Frozen themed toys for Christmas!
We ordered beautiful cookies from an amazing local baker. The cake came from another awesome baker in the area. Jen has been buying this woman's cakes for years (we will be too)! Both bakers did a wonderful job with the Frozen theme. I know this day was really fun for her and we have our families to thank for being a part of her happiness.
