More tooth pictures
The tooth fairy came the night that Sydney lost her tooth. She was so excited after the initial shock of it all!
Before bed we tucked her tooth (in it's special tooth case that she got from school) in her tooth pillow (a gift from our wonderful friend, Amy, many years ago that we have kept tucked away for this special occasion)!

Scooter
Sawyer Molly loves Jared's scooter! Makes me nervous every time she tries it out!
It was so nice out the other day that we had to get some outside time!

A Preview
Just a sneak peek of the holiday photos I took of the girls the other nights. We had to take advantage of the warm weather! I wish I could say that they rocked their two session, but they didn't! I try to make it fun for them but Sydney gets all squinty eyed when she sees the camera and Sawyer wasn't in the mood to cuddle with Syd on either of the two nights we tried. I got a few winners. I will save my favorites for our holiday cards.
Here are two other cute ones that I love.
I thought I could get some cute pictures of them eating a yummy cupcake, but they were pretty much covered in icing within a few seconds!
This one pretty much melts my heart.

Sydney B and the too loose tooth!
We reached a big MILESTONE! Sydney lost her first tooth! We didn't even know that it was loose!
I was running late this morning so I tossed a whole apple into her lunch bag instead of cutting it up. Little did I know that she had a loose tooth. 10 minutes before school is letting out I get a call from her teacher saying that Sdyney just lost her tooth biting into an apple and that she was extremely distraught. Mrs. L was concerned about putting her on the bus while she was so upset. I told her I would come grab her right away!
I got to the school and Mrs. L was holding her. She had calmed down and was no longer crying. As soon as she saw me, I told her how excited I was and that the tooth fairy would be so excited to come and visit. Several other teachers made a huge fuss over the lost tooth and Sydney finally decided that she should join in on the celebration. Needless to say, she hasn't stopped talking about it since!
I feel so bad that we didn't know it was loose. Otherwise we would have made a big fuss over the whole thing. I am a little surprised that she reacted so strongly. She is usually my go with the flow kinda girl. We read Fancy Nancy and the Too Loose Tooth book all the time too, so she was certainly aware! We talked to her only briefly about her getting to be the age that she would start losing teeth. She wasn't amused, so we dropped the subject. Little did we know...
A few (ok a lot) of photos to celebrate the milestone!

Morning Daze and Haze
Gone are the days that I wake up and hit the ground running with a smile on my face. Most mornings I wake up feeling just as exhausted as the night before, crawling to the coffee maker, and listening to kids demand this and that before I even take a sip of coffee! Parenthood. I get it. It is the life for a few more years and I wouldn't change it for the world! I help the girls get ready for school while they watch their shows. The other day I caught Sydney leaning on the coffee table in a complete daze. Forget that we have a million seats to sit on in the familyroom, apparently leaning on the table was most comfortable!
Bright eyed smile from my Soybean!
The dazed girl!Lunch time silly with my littlest while Syd was at school.
Sawyer doesn't appreciate Izzy begging for her food. She told her so with a dirty look and "no begging, Izzy dog."

Lost without it
The Learning Tower (my best friend) pretty much has a permanent spot at our counter. The girls use it all the time for eating and crafting at the counter. Someday I will actually get counter stools but for now, the tower is where they want to be! Anyway, Sawyer decided to get sick all over it the other day so after a good scrubbing, I moved it to the dining room in order to mop the floors underneath. I didn't move it back right away. Apparently Sydney was lost without it. She decided to drink her milk sitting on the floor in the spot where the Tower usually sits! I thought it was hilarious enough to take a picture. Kids are such creatures of habit, aren't they!
Trick or Treating Excitement
Halloween night was rainy and cold so the camera stayed in the camera bag except for a few quick snaps before we strolled around Nana and Pap Pap's neighborhood.
Sydney is dreaming of all the candy (which she barely eats) she will get in her bag! Or maybe she is just trying to ignore me and my camera.

Day Three of Sick Little Girl
This bug hit my baby girl hard! Three days of sickness. The couch is pretty much where she has spent the last three days. Tucked into the blankets to stay warm and to sleep.
Poor girl. She seems better this morning. She actually finished eating her breakfast instead of eating only a bite or two. We all know how much Sawyer loves her three breakfasts each morning. Her favorite time to eat. It was hard watching her being unable to eat much of anything these last few days.

Playtime
Yesterday Sawyer was still recovering from the stomach bug and ended up falling alseep on the couch mid moring. Syd has been really good about giving her the rest and quiet time she has needed to feel better.
Syd was playing princess castle. I love taking pictures in the playroom now that it is painted! Not so sure Sydney likes getting her picture taken while trying to play ; )
I love her imagination. It is so fun to sit back and watch her play.

Trick or Treating
The girls had an awesome time trick or treating in Nana and Pap Pap's neighborhood. It took Sawyer 2 or 3 houses to warm up to the idea of doing it alone. Sydney couldn't contain her excitement and ran to every door! Sawyer quickly realized how fun it was and join her sister for the marathon! Nana, Daddy and I bundled up in the cold miserable rain but enjoyed every minute watching the girls go house to house to get their candy.
Glitter Part 2
Ah, back to the glitter picture that was inspired by my favorite photographer. I spent 10 minutes outside with Sawyer the other day and snapped off just a few frames and got 2 awesome images. Sydney wasn't so easy. She put way to much body motion into blowing the glitter off of her hand. You would think she was trying to blow out birthday candles or blow up a big balloon or something. She threw her whole body into the motion! Not very conducive to the type of picture I was going for. She also was most unhappy that the glitter blew right back into her face. Most of the time she was flinching as she blew the glitter out of her hands. I got 1 major outtake image and 1 decent one to keep!
Major outtake! Look at that face!
The only decent one of Sydy girl!

Fever Girl
Sawyer woke up puking really early this morning. Poor baby. I just assumed it was from a quick fast food stop and a little bit of candy from Halloween night. After dropping Sydney off to school this morning, I discovered that the bug was going around at school. So poor Sawyer spent most of the morning puking, sleeping and puking some more. She couldn't keep anything down so fortunately, she was vomitting mostly water. I had to load her in the car to pick Sydney up at the bus stop. At the very last minute, I ran inside to grab the puke pan for the car ride down to the bus stop. I am glad I did because there she puked in her car seat at the bus stop. My heart broke for her when she finished, started crying and sadly asked me "why Mommy?" Bless her poor little belly. She fell right back to sleep after we got Syd off the bus.
Sydney was really good about keeping quiet and playing alone down in the playroom. She rebounded a little this afternoon and played for a short time with Syd until the fever took over again and she crashed while we ate dinner. A warm bath, a bit of toast and a few books and she was ready for bed. Hope she is better tomorrow and I hope the rest of us stay well. Wishful thinking. Darn the very contagious stomach bug.

Pumpkin Carving
We carved pumpkins the other night with the girls. This is the first time we have ever carved them. I am so embarressed to even admit that! Normally we would go trick or treating with friends so we always just kept our uncarved pumpkins our for decoration. This year Jim picked up two extras to carve and the girls had a blast! This will be an annual activity from this point onward.
Sawyer was a bit wigged out by the pumpkin guts and got really irritated when I made her stick her hand into the pumpkin to test it out. Finally I convinced her to put her hand in the bowl of guts and just get used to it. She did but then wanted to wash her hands pretty quickly. Sydney of course was pulling the guts out with determination. I was washing seeds and getting ready to roast them while Jim helped the girls design their pumpkin faces.

Jared
We have enjoyed having Jared over a lot these days. He stayed with us during the storm on Monday and Tuesday when the school district was closed. The girls always have a blast hanging out with him and I enjoy his company too.
Chillin' out in his and Bethany's room at our house. Still need to paint this room, but we have a couch in there and a really comfy new quilt. Jared likes to hang out, drink his nasty soda :), and watch videos and listen to music.
Chillin' out with the girls after a busy afternoon of basement soccer, basketball and wrestling with the little ladies. The girls are always exhausted after his visit!

Lots of wrestling when he comes to visit. The girls are in heaven and Jared is a good sport about it!
Nap Time, Quiet Time
Soybean still loves her naps to the point that often she will ask to go to nappy. However, Sydney gave up naps not too long ago. We fought over the issue a little and we are both still trying to adjust to the change. Evenings are a little rough for her and she can be a bit grumpy if she is really tired, but that is improving already. Her little body just needs to finish adjusting to no naps. We are finding that we both need a little time during the day so she gladly runs to her room for quiet time. I leave coloring books, paper, tape, and scissors up in her room for her and she has a blast creating! Often she will come back downstairs after an hour or so and we sit together and study sight words or writing. By the time we are done studying, it is time for Sawyer to get up from her nap.
