Best Summer EVER

I seem to say it each year, but we had the best summer ever! The girls and I moved to camp on June 14 and didn't move back home until the night of August 24! Each year gets easier and full of more adventure as the girls get older.  We had our local friends come up for several days shortly after we arrived. Lots of swimming, kayaking, and boating with our friends.  The girls enjoyed the company of their two boy buddies. Jim and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary that same weekend.  It was fun having him at camp for our anniversary and Father's Day.  A few weeks later our out of town friends came. Amazing weather, amazing fishing, lots of fun kid time, swimming and boating time! Mom and Dad came at the beginning of August.  Again, more amazing weather, amazing fishing and lots of Nana and Pap Pap time.  Their puppy Lucy loved the water almost as much as Mia dog.

During the many weeks that it was just the girls and I, we spent our days walking around our hilly lake roads, tons of swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking.  The girls also spent so much time reading and working on their workbooks.  They also spent some days writing pen pal letters to their friends. They made me so proud.  They worked hard and they each have a long reading list to prove it!

The lake water was warm right as we arrived.  The weather was absolutely amazing all summer.  I think we only missed two full beach days.  What little rain we did get usually came and went so quickly.  On the days the water was really smooth, we would take long paddle board and kayak runs up several bays from ours.  The girls and I had fun finding secret spots along the nature preserve land on the shoreline.  I'd let them pull their kayaks on shore and they'd explore all around.

Lots of weekend time was spent playing with our camp neighbor kids and grandkids.  Missing all of our lake neighbors already! Counting down until next summer!

Round one of photos...

 Birthay girl Sydney!

These next two pictures were from our walk down our lane right after a thunderstorm.  My camera lens got so fogged up because I went from my air conditioned home to outside in 90% humidity.  The foggy lens created cool blurry looking photos.
