Things I don't want to forget

So for thirteen years (yes, Bethany is 13..almost 14) I have been saying that I need to write down things that my favorite kids do or say...and do you think I wrote any of them down yet? Nope, not a one. I have most of them stored up in my brain. Bethany, Jared and Teddy have come up with some notable comments that are priceless. Now that my own babies are saying and doing so much, I want to write a few of them down as they come to me...

Be prepared for a lot of these posts as things will continually pop into my head and the kids will continually inspire me to record all of the wonderful moments.

A few months ago we converted Sydney to a big girls bed. She transitioned wonderfully as I knew she would, but I got in the habit of telling her that I would sit with her for a minute or two. Normally I would sit on her rocker for a short time, but then I started to sit at the front of her bed and rub her cheek. I love the quiet chats we have as I rub her back and her cheek. She will just randomly hug me as I sit with her. Now her new favorite thing to say before bed is "sit with me" and "rub." Too precious for words.

I can't get over what a little cuddle bug Sawyer Molly is turning out to be. She loves to give hugs and kisses all the time. She loves to say uh-oh, oohhh, ma, da...and now her new favorite thing is to throw her arms in the air when we say "touchdown." Yeah, we are big football fans. That reminds me, when Sydney asks to watch a movie on the weekend, we remind her that it is football day. Now she says "football day" over and over. We have trained them both well. They will both love football.

Look who is starting to walk behind toys? I forgot what a terrifying stage this is. I constantly worry that she will fall and hurt herself. Sydney managed to get through this stage with only a few bumps and bruises so I shouldn't worry too much. But she is my baby and I always worry.
Who me? Excuse the rumpled hair and jammies...we spent most of the day looking like this...all of us : )
So we have been having issues with sharing lately. Sydney doesn't always like to share her toys with her baby sister. Now that they are playing with the same toys we have to keep a close watch over them or else there will be tug of war over something. One moment they love each other and the next they are fighting over something. I am happy that Sawyer sticks up for herself. She is going to be pretty tough. Hopefully we can continue showing them the right way to share and take turns...we have to be very gentle with both of them.

Sisterly love is a beautiful thing. Even with an occasional fight, they are always hugging and kissing one another.
